2012 New York Yankees Starter & Closer Overview

After a 1 year absence, the NY Yankees returned to the apex of the AL East with a 97-65 record in 2011. They were unable to turn that into another World Series championship , however , as they'd go on to be defeated in the first round of the postseason versus the Detroit Tigers. They traded away one of their best prospects in Jesus Montero for starter Michael Pineda. They also brought on veteran starter Hiroki Kuroda to bolster the rotation.
