Exploring The Teesdale Way
Unlike the more famous Yorkshire Dales to the south, the Durham Dales are relatively unknown; yet they're no less beautiful. The landscape of Teesdale, the best-known dale, is particularly interesting, with heather-covered grouse moors, Whinstone 'scars ' and spectacular waterfalls giving way to standard hay meadows bursting with wildflowers, specific whitewashed farmsteads, traditional forest and beautiful stone-built hamlets. The Teesdale Way, at 41.5 miles or 67km traces the course of the River Tees from its gathering grounds
